EKETAHUNA
BUSH CRICKET
FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. ("Times-Age” Special.) The draw for the Bush Cricket Association's senior competition on Saturday is:—High School v. Pahiatua; Mangamaire v. Fire Brigade. Both games will be played on the Recreation Ground, Pahiatua, and will start at 1.30 p.m. Unseasonable Weather. Most unseasonable weather has been experienced in the Eketahuna district during the past fortnight and dairy farmers are finding it difficult to continue with cropping operations. Gardening also is at a standstill. Early last night a heavy fog descended upon the town and this gave hope for a change in weather conditions. During the night, however, rain again set in and this morning torrential rain, accompanied by a'Stiff southerly wind, is falling. If the downpour continues, heavy flooding in low-lying parts will occur. Used Timber in Demand. A quantity of used timber auctioned yesterday found ready buyers at prices most satisfactory to all concerned. The timber, which was taken from Mr Marenzi’s premises which were recently renovated, was in an excellent state of preservation.
