TWO U-BOATS SUNK

IN FIVE=DAY PERIOD INCLUDING ONE WHICH SANK EMPRESS OF BRITAIN. ADMIRALTY ANNOUNCEMENT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) RUGBY, November 5. The destruction of two U-boats in five days, one of which sank the Empress of Britain, is revealed in an Admiralty statement, which reads: “The sinking of the Empress of Britain constitutes a heavy loss, but although it is unusual for the Admiralty to publish regular sinkings of U-boats we are able to state that two German U-boats were sunk during a five-day period, one ,of which was the U-boat responsible iforithe sinking of the Empress of Britain.”
