WAICHOW ISLAND
ABANDONED BY JAPANESE. (By Telegraph —Press Association Copy) ight) (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) NEW YORK. November 4. A Domei Agency broadcast states that the Japanese have abandoned Waichow Island, off the Kwangtung Province coast, which they had used as a naval base. Apparently it is part of a general withdrawal from Kwangsi. Other towns between Nanning and Yamchow also have been given up.
