Wilson and T. L. Larkin both passing the half-century. Wellington, who failed so badly against Hutt in the opening match, proved that they have a strong batting side by running up 389 against Karori on Karori Park. P. P. Henley, the exQueenslander, led the way with 93. Midland, thanks to a fine knock for 111 by W. Hepburn, and dashing in-

nings by R. Crawford and R. O'Neill, totalled 263 against Hutt on the Hutt Recreation Ground. Hutt, at stumps, had 62 on for the loss of two wickets. Good bowling by Lemin and J. Ashenden saw Kilbirnie dismiss Institute for the moderate total of 165 on the Kilbirnie Recreation Ground. Kilbirnie made the vigorous response of 271 for six wickets, H. F. Rice top-scoring with an even century.
