RED CROSS SOCIETY

DANCE AT TE WHITI. COMPETITION WINNERS. The Junior Red Cross plain and fancy dress dance held in the Te Whiti Hall on Saturday night was a decided success. The music was supplied by Mr L. Daysh (Greytown) and extras were played by Miss Norma Gunderson and Messrs Armstrong and Woods (accord; ion). , , , , Two raffles for prizes donated by Miss Crewe and Miss Macdonald weie won by Mr Armstrong (who handed his prize back to be raffled again), and Miss Crewe, respectively. Most of the children appeared m fancy dress. The judges, two visiting ladies, awarded the following prizes: Shirley Crewe (Little Old Lady) 1; Joan Bradley (Dutch Boy) 2; Nola Crewe (An Old Man) 3. Larry Bunny (Chinaman) was awarded first prize among the boys. Also in fancy dress were Dorothy Macdonald, Mary, Queen of Scots); Alison Baird, Sailor Lass; Tressa Gundesen. Queen Elisabeth; Lenna Rogers, Hawaiian Lady; Helen Patrick. Night; Joyce Rogers, Dutch Farmer; Joyce Robertson. Chinaman; Joy Gundesen. Primrose; Dorothy Baird. Dutch Girl; Nan Bunny, Gipsy; Betty Bradley, Red Cross Nurse; Kathleen Rogers, Dutch Girl, and Robert Baird. Doctor. The prizes were donated by Mrs Baird and Mrs Rogers. For the Monte Carlo the prizes were given by Miss H. Patrick and Mrs Bradley.
