RIVERSIDE CLUB OFFICIAL CLOSING ON SATURDAY. LIST OF COMPETITION WINNERS. The official closing for the season of the Riverside Golf Club took place on Saturday afternoon in the presence of a very large attendance of members and visitors. A mixed foursome competition was held and resulted in a win for Mr. and Mrs. J. Skeet. Other competitions were won as follow: — Ladies' putting, Mrs. Emery; long drive, Miss James; approaching. Miss K. Dixon; men’s putting, Mr. H. E. Pither; long dri.ve with "loaded" brassie, Mr. M. Thornton. The lady members of the club excelled themselves in the afternoon tea provided, which was done full justice to by the golfers and supporters, who packed the club house. "1 am delighted to see so many taking part in the official closing of the season,” stated the president, Mr. J. Hume. He added that the links would be playable for at least another month. Several members' had enlisted, some being at the front and notwithstanding other small difficulties, the club had enjoyed a very successful season. Mr. Hume thanked the ladies for the delightful afternoon tea, and all who had helped in the running of the club during the season. The following is the list of winners for the season: —

James; junior, Mrs. Naan; president’s trophy, Mrs. Naan; captain's trophy, Mrs. Palamontain; first bogey, Mrs. Palamontain and Mrs. M. A. Rawlins, equal 1; first medal round (sealed nett score), Miss N. Selby; second medal round, and third bogey, Miss K. Dixon; third medal round and third bogey, Mrs, Cross; first stableford, Mrs. Poole; fourball bogey, Mrs Jones and Mrs. Gilliland; fourth and fifth medal rounds, Miss J. Dixon; second stableford and fourball bogey, Miss Wood; third stableford, third bogey and second fourball bogey, Miss James; fourth stablefiord, Miss Bradley and Mrs. Naan; flag competition, Mrs. Naan; L.G.U. silver medal, Mrs. Rawlins; L.G.U. bronze medal, Mrs Naan. Men:—Senior championship, H. Weipeihana; intermediate, B. Wilshurst; junior, Brian Jones; president’s trophy, F. Shearer; captain’s trophy, N. Hoar; first medal (sealed net score), and fourball bogey, J. Thornton; second medal round, B. Braggins; first bogey round, R. Wearne, W. Gilliland and F. Hallam, equal, 1; third medal, fourball bogey and third bogey, A. Bell; third medal, W. Petty (tied with A. Bell); first stableford, S. Onion; fourth medal, E. Reid; second stableford, A. Wyeth; third stableford, M. Thornton and G. Lambourne, equal, 1; fourth stableford, Ken MacCalmont (in camp); flag competition, L. Cross; fifth medal, J. Wakelin; fourball bogey, S. Onion; third bogey round, F. Poole; second fourball bogey round, C. Anderson and A. Bell won after tossing with two other pairs of players. An end of the season match for the E. Perry trophy was also played at the Riverside club’s links over the weekend. Many club members took part in an informal competition. A further match will be-played next weekend.
