Dr Martin, former Ethiopian Minister to London, has arrived on an undisclosed visit. Fie said Haile Selassie, who is at present somewhere in the Sudan, is in constant communication with the chieftains and will seize the first opportunity to recapture his country and regain his throne.

Dr Martin claimed that over half of Abyssinia was practically in Abyssinian hands. The Italians had failed to achieve pacification, despite the presence of 350,000 troops.
