QUICK RESPONSE
TO GREEK APPEAL FOR HELP MESSAGES FROM THE KING AND MR. CHURCHILL. FIGHT AGAINST COMMON FOE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. October 28. The Greek appeal to Britain for help met with an immediate response, and the King sent a message to the Greek people in which his Majesty said that in this hour of their greatest need he wished to tell the Greek people and his cousin, George: “We are with you in this struggle; our cause is your cause.” Though doubtless hard times might be ahead, said his Majesty, both countries would meet them till victory was assured by the ever-increasing strength of free peoples. Mr. Churchill has sent a message to the Greek Council, saying: “Italy found that threats and intimidation had not availed against your calm courage and 1 therefore resorted to unprovoked ag- ' gression, seeking justification for the wanton attack in baseless accusations. 1 The .way in which the Greek people faced the dangers and provocations of recent months gained the admiration of Britishers. These qualities will up- i hold them in the present hour of trial, < We will give you all the help in our i power. We will fight a common foe i and will share a united victory.” J 1
