ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
CADET DIVISION DANCE. AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. A dance held by the Cadet Division of the St. John Ambulance in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, on Saturday night proved an outstanding success. The floor was crowded and the attendance was one of the largest yet recorded by the Division. The music was supplied by Mr Jack Barnes’s Rhythm Boys, and extras were played by Messrs J. Mackay, J. Barnes, G. Hessell and C. Jackson. The duties of M.C. were carried out in a capable manner by Mr C. S. McQuade, Cadet Superintendent. Novelty dances were held and were won as follow: —Monte Carlo waltz competition. Miss M. Hourigan and Mr P. Boyes: Lucky Spot. Miss A. Keisenberg and Private D. Wellington. Mr McQuade thanked patrons for their support and announced that the final dance of the season would be held on November 23. Supper was served by an energetic committee. The singing of Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem brought a most enjoyable function to a close. As a result of the dance the Cadet Uniform Replacement Fund will benefit considerably.
