SOCIAL AT TE ORE ORE
SOLDIER HONOURED. Visitors from Wellington and all parts of the Wairarapa were present at a social tendered to Sapper W. J. Webster, of Masterton, by the members of the Te Ore Ore Hockey Club at the Native meeting house, Te Ore Ore, on Saturday night. The event was a great success and the large gathering spent a most enjoyable time. Music for the dancing was supplied by Te Tail’s Melody Makers, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr T. Pura. A number of songs were given during the evening by Misses Corrine Hiroti and Wai Nini and Messrs E. Te Tau and E. Te Hopi. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Mr and Mrs Gust. A presentation was made to the guest of the evening, who suitably returned thanks. A homemade supper was served by a ladies’ committee.
