KALGOORLIE CONTEST
f FOUR CANDIDATES IN FIELD. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) KALGOORLIE, October 27. Four candidates will contest the Kalgoorlie by-election on November 16, caused by the death of Mr A. Green, immediately after the Federal Election. So much depends on winning this seat that the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, intends to fly to Kalgoorlie from Melbourne to help the candidature of the Nationalist candidate, Frederick R. Lee, journalist, who ran Mr Curtin so close in Fremantle. The official Labour candidate is H. V. Johnson, union secretary, and the other two nominees are Independents, Carlyle Ferguson, journalist, and Benjamin Finaly, miner.
