NEW FEDERAL CABINET

NEW PORTFOLIO OF LABOUR & NATIONAL SERVICE.
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, October 27. The Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, announced his new Cabinet today. All the present Ministers except Mr Cameron, former Leader of the Country Party, remain, l)qt the main portfolios have been reallotted.
Th new Ministers are Sir Earle Page and Messrs Harrison and Holt. Sir Earle Page, who preceded Mr Cameron as Country Party leader, has a long Ministerial experience. Mr Holt, one of the youngest members of Parliament, has been recalled from the A.1.F., where he is serving as a gunner. He was previously assistant Minister of Supply. He takes the new-ly-created portfolio of Labour and National Service. It is expected that Mr Cameron, who was excluded because he did not compose differences with the Country Party, will transfer shortly to the United Australia Party. The new Cabinet is an increase of one on the old Cabinet. Five Ministers are from the Country Party and the remainder from the United Australia Party. Mr Menzies attaches great importance to the new portfolio of Labour and National Service, which replaces that of Labour and Industry and provides for the planning of post-war reconstruction of industry. Mr Harrison now Minister of Customs was a former Pos ( tmaster-General. The new Ministers who will be sworn in in Canberra tomorrow are:— Mr Menzies: Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Co-ordination and Information. Mr Fadden, treasurer. Mr Wm. Hughes, Attorney-General and Navy Minister. Mr Spender, Army Minister. Senator McLeay: Postmaster-General and Repatriation. Mr McEwen: Air Minister.. Senator Poll: Minister of the Interior. Sir Earle Page: Minister of Commerce. Sir Frederick Stewart: Minister of External Affairs, Social Services and Health. Senator Mcßride: Minister of Supply and Munitions. Mr Harrison: Minister of Customs. Mr Holt: Minister of Labour and National Service. Assistant Ministers are Senators Collett and Leckie, Messrs Collins and Anthony. Two more Assistant Ministers are to be appointed. The War Cabinet is to be announced shortly.
