LADIES’ GUILD. ENJOYABLE SOCIAL. A_ very happy function took place in the Epiphany Hall yesterday afternoon when the Church of the Epiphany Ladies’ Guild held a social, the proceeds of which are to devoted to the Garden Party to be held in “Sedgley” grounds on Saturday, November 30. Those present were entertained by -much appreciated items by Mrs W. G. Perry, Miss Ni Boddington and Miss Betty Barnes. After the serving of afternoon tea by members of the Guild, the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich gave an interesting address on present day affairs, which was listened to with the closest attention. Mrs Whitton, president of the Guild, thanked Archdeacon Rich for his address, and announced that the competition for a pink knitted set of baby clothes had been won by R. Thomas. Archdeacon Rich took the opportunity of thanking those responsible for the social, especially those who contributed items and the ladies who provided afternoon tea.
