COLLEGE CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY D. McGREGOR. The final of the Wairarapa College boys’ championship was played on the Mahunga links yesterday under very unfavourable conditions, a strong wind blowing and heavy rain falling, when Douglas McGregor defeated Leo Pointon 7 and 5. MASTERTON CLUB. LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIPS. The following were the results of ' finals of the senior and junior championships played yesterday by the Masterton ladies’ club: — Senior: Miss D. Todd beat Mrs Drew, 2 and 1. Junior: Mrs G. F. Candy beat Mrs W. Ball, 2 and 1. EIDEFORD CLUB. LABOUR DAY TOURNAMENT. The qualifying rounds in connection with the Bideford Club's tournament are to be played on Saturday. In connection with match play for the North Wairarapa championship and Bideford Handicap, those eliminated in the first rounds will enter other groups. The finals will be played on Monday. The official closing of the 'links for the season will take place on Monday afternoon when a mixed foursome will be played. Visitors will be cordially welcomed.
