BOY’S DEATH VICTIM STRUCK BY CRICKET BALL. (“Times-Age” Special.) Accidentally struck on the head by a cricket ball while playing cricket at the Featherston District High School yesterday morning, Jack Henry McNamara, aged 14, son of Constable and Mrs H. McNamara, Fitzherbert Street, Featherston, collapsed and died in hospital half an hour later. CROQUET INTER-CLUB MATCH. A croquet match was played on Wednesday at Lansdowne between the Haunui and Lansdowne clubs. The results were as follow: Mesdames Morris and Ackerman beat Mesdames Card and Harkness, 26/15; Mesdames Dagg and Shearer beat Mesdames White and Davis, 26/25. Singles: Mrs Morris beat Mrs Card, 26/15; Mrs Dagg beat Mrs White, 26/9; Mrs Shearer beat Mrs Davis, 26/17; Mrs Ackerman beat Mrs Harkness, 26/14.
