TERRITORIAL BALLOT
DRAWING COMPLETED. i-“GAZETTE” TO BE PUBLISHED ON NOVEMBER 6. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Although it was originally estimated that the drawing of the second National Service ballot now in progress would not be completed until midday on Saturday, the work has been so expedited by the use of a night staff for checking and the introduction of speedier methods, indicated by the drawing of the first ballot, and the willingness of the staff to work extended hours, that the last of 34,000 names was drawn at about 2.30 this afternoon.
A special issue of the “Gazette” containing the names will be issued in the evening of November 6. No date has been fixed for the beginning of the first overseas ballot.
