GREYTOWN
GOLF SEASON CLOSED PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. (“Times-Age" Special.) The 1940 season of the Greytown Golf Club was brought to a close on Monday night when a social was held in the Odd Fellows’ Hall. During the evening Mesdames T. R. Ingley and T. Gold each sang two songs, and Miss Bouzaid and Mr W. Brown gave an exhibition of tap dancing. In asking Mr J. Kiernan (president) to present the trophies won during the season. Mr H. W. Feast said that the happy and smooth working of the club were due to the manner in which Mr Kiernan had for many years carried out his duties as president of the club. Mr Kiernan, in presenting the trophies to the respective winners, congratulated the club on having had a most successful season. He made special reference to the ladies for the manner in which the tea arrangements had been carried out. Mr Kiernan also thanked Mr F. C. Bunny for the use of the links and expressed the thanks of the club to the donors of trophies. Messrs H. W. Feast and S. Shedden were the M.’sC.. and the music was supplied by Te Tau’s Orchestra. The supper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mrs Kiernan and the ladies’ committee.
