BRITONS IN CHINA
4 EVACUATION FROM OCCUPIED AREAS. NEED OF EXTRA SHIPPING. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) SHANGHAI, October 22. With regard to the British Embassy’s announcement, advising non-es-sential Britons to evacuate the occupied areas of China, it is estimated that there are 15.000 Britons in the occupied areas of China at present. The British shipping schedules are unable to handle any increased passenger traffic without adding to the accommodation and. since all ships are fully booked, it is therefore anticipated that the British will send special liners, as has been done by America.
