SUPPLY OF FERTILISERS
CONCERN FELT IN AUCKLAND. Concern over supplies of fertiliser in the summer aryd autumn was expressed in a report issued by the Auckland provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. The Northern Wairoa district had urged that full information should be given to farmers. There was a great deal of obscurity and farmers were prevented from planning production ahead. Firms had intimated that they would be unable to meet orders for fertiliser during January, February and March. T*his would mean, continued the report, that farmers would require to obtain supplies for autumn use earlier and would lose the rebate on sacks, which had to be returned within three months.
