Details from reliable neutral sources quoted by the Air Ministry News Service indicate the effectiveness of Royal Air Force raids against Berlin. The main gasworks has been badly damaged and the General Post Office almost gutted. Several factories employed in the manufacture of vital war material have been partially wrecked. Damage to railway sidings, stations and goods yards has seriously affected the transport system inside and outside the city. It is also reported that many troops were embarked at invasion ports on September 16, but later were disembarked. Invasion plans were not adopted on account of the R.A.F’s. sustained offensive.
