LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

MEETING IN MASTERTON.. ADDRESS BY MRS S. WALLIS. The Masterton League of Mothers held its last afternoon meeting of the year on Wednesday, the president, Mrs L. B. Maunsell, being in the chair. After the league hymn and prayer, a vote of sympathy was passed with Mrs R. Miller in her recent bereavement. Mrs W. James spoke briefly on the work of the Masterton Dental Clinic. The speaker for the day was Mrs S. Wallis, of Lower Hutt. Because things at the present time were so difficult, we should approach them in a very simple way, she said. There was a great deal of wisdom and truth in the proverbs and saying upon which their parents were brought up and a great deal too much muddle-thinking today, she added. If they could be wise enough to put “first things first” and remember that there was “a place for everything and everything in its place” it would lead to a world of greater law and order, love, truth, goodness and freedom. These were the very things for which they were at present' fighting. Mrs Wallis was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her interesting address. « The choir rendered an item and a vocal duet was contributed by Mesdames Snowsill and Burke. The tea hostesses were Mesdames Wright, Williams, Adamson, Speight, Davis-Goff and Simpson.
