AJAX COMMANDER
♦ DISTINGUISHED CAREER WITH DESTROYERS. LONDON, October 16. The new commander of H.M.S. Ajax. Captain McCarthy, had a distinguished career with destroyers. He was deputy director of the training and staff duties division at the outbreak of the war. The Italians must have been puzzled by the appearance of H.M.S. York, which is among the ships the Germans claim to have sunk.
