WOMEN’S DIVISION
RANGITUMAU BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs Duckett (vice-president) presided over a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Rangitumau branch of the Women’s Division of the N.Z. Farmers' Union. An apology for absence was received from Mrs James, who was indisposed. The hostesses were Mrs C. Macdonald and Miss J. McLachlan. The blooms competition resulted as follows: One bloom, Miss I. Harvey 1, Mrs E. Wilton, Mrs McGovern and Mrs Duckett 2. Three blooms: Miss I. Harvey and Mrs E. Wilton 1. The branch held a most successful dance in aid of the London Distress Fund and the sum of £l6 19s 6d was the result. The hall was decorated in red, white and blue and excellent music was supplied by Mrs Te Tau’s Orchestra. Supper was supplied by the members. Aircraftsman J. Duckett donated a beautiful polished wooden box which was raffled and realised the sum of £9 15s. The winner of this raffle was Mr F. Graham, of Masterton. The thanks of the members of the branch are due to Mr Thornton for his cooperation in providing a motor bus.
