DRUIDS’ LODGE

BUSINESS AT FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Druid’s Lodge was held in the Forester’s Hall last night, the A.D. Bro A. W. Hearle presiding over a good attendance of brethren. Prior to the commencement of lodge business the A.D. made sympathetic reference to the death of Past Arch Bro A. Newman. As a mark of, respect the members stood in silence. Grand Lodge notified the lodge that they would pay an official visit to Masterton on October 28, when they would be pleased to discuss matters of interest to the brethren of the lodge. The lodge was favoured with a visit by the district president, Bro A. Stretton, and members of Totara Lodge, who were given a lodge welcome. The secretary reported that eight members had declared on the sick benefit of the lodge and eight had declared off the funds. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £132 19s. lOd. were passed. At the conclusion of lodge business an enjoyable social was held.
