GOLF CLUB SEASON TO CLOSE ON SAURDAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following best cards were handed in for the Stableford competition held on Saturday afternoon: —A. White, 21-11-32; L. Benton. 14-12-26; W. Rowles, 23-2-25; J. McCallum, 17-8-25; H. Lcvegrove. 11-14-25; K. Allen, 19-5-24. The official closing of the links will be held next Saturday, when a mixed foursome will be played commencing at 1.30 p.m. Approaching and putting competitions will also be held. Arrangements are well in hand for the annual tournament at Labour weekend. ST. JOHN’S CHURCH CONFIRMATION SERVICE. A confirmation service was held in St John’s Church last night, there being a large congregation. There were 15 candidates confirmed by the Right Rev. Bishop Cherrington, who delivered an inspiring address. Personal. Miss F. Jones, Wellington, is visiting relatives in Featherston for a few days. Concert at Kahutara. The proceeds from the Savage Club's concert at Kahutara are to be donated to the London Relief Fund, not the Red Cross Society as previously stated.
