OIL FOR SUBMARINES

EIRE GOVERNMENT’S LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. DENOUNCED BY ULSTER M.P. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, October 12. Mr James Little, member of Parliament for County Down, at a meeting in Belfast, said that when the Eire Government was asked about supplying petrol to U-boats its reply was “that it had no knowledge of the matter.” “That was putting the glass to the blind eye with a vengeance,” said Mr Little. “Here we had a British Dominion selling its petrol and oil to enable German submarines to sink British ships. There is nowhere else Germans could get petrol on the west coast of Ireland.”
