HUNDRED YEARS OLD

MR M. J. GRONKOWSKI. Mr M. J. Gronkowski, Railway Road, Masterton, will celebrate his one hundredth birthday tomorrow. The event will be marked by a family gathering of the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Visitors are expected to be present from Auckland, Dannevirke and Carterton. Mr Gronkowski came to New Zealand, from Poland, in 1883. He resided in the Carterton district for 16 years, later taking up his residence, after the death of his wife, with his daughter, Mrs P. Price, Railway Road. Mr Gronkowski is still enjoying fairly good health.
