AT CARTERTON YESTERDAY. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report;—A good yarding of stock came forward at the Carterton sale yesterday, and sold well at late rates. The following are some of the realisations: — Cattle—Jersey heifers on drop, £B, £9 to £10; Jersey heifer in milk, £8; fat cows, £5, £6 to £7 10s; forward cows, £3 to £4 10s; store cows, £2 10s; vealers, 30s to £2; cows and calves, £3 to £3 10s; empty heifers, to £5 7s 6d; forward steers, £5 12s to £9 9s. Sheep—Fat woolly wethers, 32s to 35s 6d; fat shorn wethers, to 27s 6d; fat ewes, 24s to 28s; fat hoggets, 27s 6d to 28s; fat shorn ewes, 18s to 19s 8d; ewes and lambs, to 17s Id. Pigs, —Weaners, good 25s to 28s, medium 22s to 245, small 16s to 18s; slips, 30s, 33s to 37s 6d; light porkers, 39s to £2 ss; porkers, £2 6s to £3; baconers, £3 6s, £3 10s to £4 Is; choppers, 37s 6d to £2; sow and litter of 6, £4.
