BUSH BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES COMPLETED. (“Times-Age” Special.) The results of the championship games played by the Bush Basketball Association this week are as follow:— Stars A 24. United 10; Tuis 25, Eketahuna 18; Konini won by default from Hukanui. This completes the competition games for the 1940 season, the championship once more going to Konini A with Star A runners-up. The championship points scored by the teams were as follow: Konini (unbeaten) 32 points: Stars A (beaten twice) 28 points; Tuis, 24 points; United, 18 points; Hukanui, 14 points; Konini B, 11 points; Eketahuna, 10 points; Stars B, 9 points; Hamua, nil. On Monday next the Yankee tournament for the Russell Cup will be commenced. The draw is as follows: Stars A v Hukanui, Konini B v Stars B. Konini A v Hamua, Tuis v United. Personal Items. Mrs E. D. Toohill, Church Street, is visiting New Plymouth. Mrs E. Coster, Stanley Street, has returned from a visit to Wellington. Mrs Morris, High Street, has returned from a visit to Waipukurau. She was accompanied by her daughter, Mrs T. C. Denne.
