GREYTOWN
THE DAIRYING INDUSTRY GOLD MINE TO TOWN. (“Times-Age” Special.) The dairying season is in full swing, and it is anticipated that there will be a much greater output than usual from the local factory provided the weather does not become too dry. The local farmers have willingly responded to the call for more production. The dairy cows have come well through a mild winter and with this favourable condition they have started with bigger yields than usual. The local dairy industry is a gold mine to the town. Popular Picnic Centre. Greytown has in the past year or two become a popular picnic centre with f large number of visitors, and it is anticipated that this summer will see an increased number of motorists from other districts making Greytown theii visiting place for weekend jaunts. Greytown has good camping facilities for motorists while its shops provide cheap and up-to-date goods. Busy Time on Farms. The farms throughout the district are bearing a busy appearance just now. The dairy industry is in full swing, while the growing of additional fodder for cows and in response to the more production appeal, is keeping the farmer very actively engaged. The good effect of cow testing is beginning to be seen by the increased returns obtained from the factory, while recent stud stock sales outside the district have resulted in good stock being purchased by local farmers in order to improve their herds.
