HAVE THEM ALL SUMMER. No vegetable is more appreciated during the summer, by the majority of people than green peas. A continuous supply should be maintained from November until autumn. This can only be accomplished by sowing at regular intervals. Sow short rows, each of which will provide one or two pickings. Sowings should be made about every three weeks and the general rule is to sow another row as soon as the last one appears above the soil. For each row take out a trench 10 inches wide and 12 inches deep. Fork over and manure the subsoil, then return the top spit and make it firm. Run a wide drill down the centre of each of these prepared positions, using] a wide draw hoe and making the drills two inches in depth. In the bottom of the drills scatter a mixture of equal parts superphosphate and sulphate of potash. Allow about one ounce to each yard run of row and rake it in. Sow the seeds two inches apart all over the bottom of the drills. Mark the exact position of the drills with a stick at each end, then cover the seeds by raking fine soil over them.
