OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS

MILK FEVER (To the Editor.) Sir, —I was surprised to read in your issue of Saturday the reported remarks of a well known Dunedin veterinary surgeon on the above. His opinion that “modern methods can obtain a complete cure” is not very modern in itself. Modern belief is that prevention is better than cure, and as the causes of milk fever have been definitely established, its prevention is also possible. It is quite evident that veterinary surgeons are not keeping pace with their medical brothers in “prevention rather than cure" research work. —Yours, etc,, H.G.S. Masterton, October 7.
