MARTINBOROUGH
SCHOOL COMMITTEE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS (“Times-Age" Special.) The monthly meeting of the School Committee was held last night. There were present Messrs W. J. McNally (in the chair), K. Arthur (secretary), E. C. Sadd (treasurer), R. P. George, F. B. Wright, G. P. Cotter, R. Lawrence, and the headmaster (Mr D. C. Pryor). An apology for absence was received from Mr J. A. Beveridge. A letter was read from the Education Board stating that an extra grant would be made to cover expenses, and that the school should be opened daily with the reciting of the Lord’s Prayer. Accounts amounting to £2O Is Id were pased for payment. The headmaster reported that the primary roll number for the month was 187.2 with an average attendance of 172.5. The attendance in the secondary department was 43 and 41, respectively. Mr Hesse, agricultural instructor, had visited the school and reported satisfactorily in connection therewith. The visiting committee reported that repairs were required to some fences and that trees and hedges should be topped. Mr L. A. Chapman was appointed to till the vacancy on the committee. Mr E. C. Sadd was appointed chairman.
