CROSSING COLLISION
MOTOR CAR AND TRAIN. FOUR PERSONS INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 4. A collision occurred between a light ■ motor-car and the Hamilton-Cam-bridge passenger train at Matangi crossings at 4 o’clock this afternoon and several occupants of the car were injured. They were: — Mrs Amy Muriel Bath, aged 28, wife of William Bath, of Matangi; injuries to hip and leg. condition not serious. Ean Wilfred Bath, aged four; head injuries, fracture of arm and injuries to foot; condition serious. Barbara Robinson, aged two years, daughter of C. Robinson, of Matangi, shock and abrasions. The car was being driven by Mrs Elizabeth Robinson in a northerly direction and struck the side of the engine. It was thrown into the air and was extensively damaged. Mrs, Bath was thrown several yards beyond the car and a piece ol wood penetrated several inches into her left leg. Ean Bath was thrown still further away. Mrs Robinson received a bruised shoulder and suffered from shock, but her condition did not necessitate admission to the hospital.
