OLD TIME DANCE
AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS.
FINAL OF SERIES LAST NIGHT.
The final of the series of old time dances which have been held in the Masterton Central School assembly hall throughout the winter by the Home and School Association was held last night and was the usual outstanding success. The attendance was as large as ever and the capacity of the hall was severely taxed. The floor was in excellent order. The music was supplied by Mr Jack Barnes's Rhythm Boys and extras were played by Mr H. Hood. Mr W. R. Nicol, who has carried out the duties of M.C. in an efficient manner throughout the series again successfully discharged his duties last night. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss J. Burton and Mr E. Burton. A feature of the gathering was the supper served by a combined committee. Mr Nicol thanked patrons for their , continued support during the season 1 and referred to the many enjoyable dances which had. been held. He announced that a special dance in aid of the London distress fund would be heir' in the hall on Saturday, October 19. A charge" of 2s each would be made ana all the proceeds would go to the fund. Mr Jack Barnes and his orchestra had offered their services voluntarily for the occasion.
