ARREST OF BRITISH SUBJECTS IN RUMANIA PREFECT REPRIMANDED BY ANTONESCU. AMERICA DEMANDING SATISFACTION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) BUCHAREST, October 1. General Antonescu, it is reported, has reprimanded the Prefect of Ploesti for permitting legionaries to arrest Britons on Sunday, pointing out that they have no executive pov?ers regarding arrested persons. The British Legation at Bucharest, it is reported, has received a written promise from General Antonescu to investigate the case of the five arrested Britons. The United States Legation has strongly protested against the arrest and maltreatment of an American oil official and has demanded full satisfaction.
