* WAR DONATION FROM ST HELENA (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 29. Acknowledging £B7O from the inhabitants of St Helena toward the purchase of a warplane for the R.A.F., Lord Beaverbrook says: “More than a century ago your island saw the end of a conqueror who challenged the free spirit of Britain, and now St Helena plays its part in making sure that another foe more ruthless shall be brought to utter destruction.”
