MAURICEVILLE WEST

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE EUCHRE PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) A very successful euchre party was held in the Mauriceville West Foresters' Hall on Saturday evening under the auspices of the Mauriceville District Women’s Institute. The prizes were won as follows: —Ladies: Miss S. McKeown 1. Men: Mr G. Nielsen 1. Consolation prizes: Miss A. Cameron and Mrs Grant. The opportunity was taken to farewell Mrs Gregory, who will shortly leave the district. In the absence of the president, Mrs Cameron, Miss R. Mortensen spoke in glowing terms of the valued services Mrs Gregory had rendered to the Institute, and in presenting her with a bouquet, asked her to accept the best wishes for the future from her fellow members. Mrs Gregory suitably replied. Supper was served by the ladies. SEWING GUILD ENJOYABLE GATHERING. The fortnightly euchre party held by the Mauriceville West Women’s Sewing Guild, was largely attended and a very enjoyable time was spent. Mrs Gregory and Mr M. Godden were the winners of the first prizes, while Mrs H. Trass, Junr. and Mr G. Gregory won the consolation prizes. Supper' was served. Personal Items. Mrs H. Trass, Serir., is spending a holiday with her daughter in Palmerston North. Leading Aircraftsman G. Gregory, Weraroa Camp, Levin, is spending his leave with relations and friends in Mauriceville West.
