GOLF CLUB ECLECTIC COMPETITION. (“Times-Age" Special.) The following were the best cards handed in for the third round of the eclectic competition (captain’s trophy) held on Saturday:—H. Bloxam 39-61-321: H. Lovegrove 42-9-33; A. Hoby 41-71-331; L. Benton 42-8-34; H. McCarty 42-8-34. Personal Items. Mr R. J. Rae, who has been stationmaster in Featherston for the past 4$ years, has received notice of his transfer on promotion to Taumarunui. Flo is to be succeeded by Mr Crawford, of Te Kuiti. Miss Clapshaw, of the nursing staff of the Dannevirke Hospital, arrived in Featherston yesterday on her annual leave. Home Nursing Class. A bridge party in aid of the funds for the bed, etc, for the Home Nursing Class was held in the Red Cross Society’s rooms yesterday afternoon and was well attended. It was decided not to donate prizes.This was the final effort, as the mattress and linen have been secured and the funds in hand are sufficient for present requirements.
