DENTAL DECAY
PREVENTED BY PROPER DIET. “Dental decay could be prevented by proper diet,” said Sir Leonard Hill, prominent physiologist, in his presidential address to the conference of the Association of Sanitary Inspectors, states the “Dental Magazine.” Declaring that toothbrushes and dentists “had done nothing,” he said that what .was wanted to stop' the mischief was whole wheatmeal, milk, butter, cheese and vegetables, a little meat, and some hard food to exercise the jaws.
“Feeding children on white bread and cheap margarine and jam,” he added, “is like supplying petrol to a car without lubrication to the engine or water to the battery.”
