TERRITORIALS LEAVE

PROCEEDING TO DANNEVIRKE. THREE MONTHS’ TRAINING. In uniform and carrying rifles and bayonets, Territorials from Masterton and district paraded at the Drill Hall this morning and left later by train for Dannevirke, where they will be in camp for three months. The departure of the men in uniform provided a contrast to the usual drafts of recruits in mufti proceeding to other camps for training for overseas service. Well on a hundred men left Masterton this morning. Headed by the Wairarapa College Pipe Band, the Territorials marched to the station, where they entrained on the 11.20 o’clock mail train for Woodville. A fair number of citizens assembled in the vicinity of the Drill Hall to see the men march off. There was also a large gathering, at the railway station.
