ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

CADET DIVISION .DANCE. AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. The Masonic Hall was filled to capacity on Saturday night when the Cadet Division of the St. John Ambulance held one of its most successful dances to date. The floor was in excellent order. The music was supplied by Mr Jack Barnes’s Rhythm Boys and the duties of M.C. were capably carried out by the Cadet Superintendent ,Mr C. S. McQuade. Extras were played by Misses Gillespie and McDonald. A feature of the gathering was the excellent supper which was served by an energetic committee.

The Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss M. Walker and Mr J. Norrie and the Lucky Spot competition by Miss N. Benge and Private W. H. Carle.

At a suitable interval Mr McQuade thanked patrons for their continued support and stated that the proceeds of the dance would go to the Cadets’ uniform replacement fund. He announced that the next dance would be held on October 26. The dance concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the National Anthem.
