GREYTOWN

WOMEN’S DIVISION MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Greytown Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs Beu presided over a large attendance of members. Several apologies for absence were received. " A letter of thanks was received from Mrs J. W. Barnard and Miss Marjorie Orr for books received from the Division. . The appeal for donations to the Bomber Fund was well responded tc by Women's Division members. Mrs Beu announced that £2B 14s had been received with more to come in. £lO of the amount had been donated by Mr W. A. Tate. A letter was read from Mrs G. R. Jury, secretary of the Red Cross and Refugee Sewing Committee, stating that the articles received from the last W.D.F.U. meeting were to be forwarded to the Lady Galway Guild. Used stamps were handed in by Mesdames Tully, Bensemen and Wenden. Mrs Beu said that all members would be very sorry to hear that Mrs A. Johnson had had to enter hospital for treatment. Mrs Pink, of Carterton, gave a very interesting demonstration on floral wreath making for which she was thanked. Mrs Pink then presented the wreath to the Division, to be placed on the grave of the late Mr H. T. Rees. The Leper Christmas Appeal was read by Mrs Beu, who asked members to bring clothing, fancywork, books or money to the next meeting. The annual Women’s Division party was arranged for October in the Morison’s Bush Hall. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames C. Maxton, F. Judd, J. F. Thompson and H. McPhee. Hockey Team. The following is the Kia Kaha hockey team to play Excelsior at Masterton; the bus leaving at 2 p.m.: K. Maloney, C. Farrell. D. McCarty, M. McKenna. P. Cadwallader, E. Bouzaid, P. Sugrue. B. Woodley, I. Svenson. B. Anker, R. Peterson, M. Keltie.
