WEDDING

5 WRIGHT—ROBERTS. C The Methodist Church, Carterton. was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Saturday last, when Joyce, daugh--1 ter of Mr and Mrs F. W. Roberts. Kent Street, Carterton. was married to , Ronald. Raymond, youngest son of Mrs W. Wright, Clareville. The officiating minister was the Rev J. Daglish. and Mrs F. A. Nightingale presided at the organ. The usher at the church was Mr Frank Wright. The bride, who entered the church

1 escorted by her father, wore a beautiful gown of parchment satin cut on ; slimming lines with a long train. The bodice was high waisted with a cowl ' neckline and a row of small buttons • down the centre back. The sleeves ■ were tight fitting from the elbow to • the wrist, coming to a point over the I hands. The beautiful tulle veil was : held In place by a coronet of pearls and orange blossoms and formed a second train. She carried a bouquet of .Madonna lilies, pear blossom and maiden hair fer nwith long trailers. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs A. D. Griggs, Masterton, as matron of honour, who was attired in a frock of pink satin marocain, with a high waistline and gathered bodice and very full skirt cut on classical lines. She wore a pleated tulle halo with self net shoulder veil and carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas, carnations, heath and maidenhair fern with long trailers. Mr Horace Wright, The Chateau. Tongariro (brother of the bridegroom) carried out the duties of best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a lucky horse shoe by. little Beverly Wright. The reception was held at the Premier Tea Rooms where the bride’s mother, wearing a lido blue ensemble embroidered in bronze design, a blue velour hat, a martin fur necklet and a shoulder spray in autumn tints, received the guests. She was assisted by the bridegroom's mother who chose navy blue and a grey fur necklet with a posy of red and cream flowers.

Later in the afternoon Mr and Mrs Wright left by car for the north where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride travelled in a smart floral frock and fawn coat with brown accessories. She carried a handsome fur stole, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr and Mrs Wright’s future home will be at Clareville.
