CRICKET
RED STAR CLUB ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. MR G. B. PETERSON ELECTED LIFE MEMBER. The annual meeting of the Red Star Cricket Club was held in the Savage Club rooms last night when a large attendance was presided over by Mr A. Paterson. The balance sheet and annual report were read and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr L. J. Matthews; president, Mr B. Iveson; vice-presi-dents, Messrs C. Perry, H. B. Thomas, W. Fly, J. Buckton, P. Prescott, G. Masters, A. Styles, F. Dohnt; club captain, Mr F. Hoar; treasurer, Mr B. Wilmshurst; auditor, Mr F. M. Cunningham; secretary, Mr G. B. Peterson; social committee, Messrs C. Roys, W. Orsborn, W. Peterson, S. L. Hatch, C. Reid, A. L. Paterson; delegates to the Wairarapa Cricket Association, Messrs A. Bell, A. L. Paterson, W. Orsborn and G. Peers, management committee, Messrs W. Peterson, C. Roys, F. Hoar, J. Renner, A. Bell. The following new members were elected: —Messrs H. Ewington, E. Clements, G. Seigal, J. Fouhy, T. S. Stilburn and Olsen. It was proposed by Mr S. L. Hatch, seconded by Mr A. Bell, that the club enter one senior and two junior teams in the association competitions, lhe motion was carried. The secretary was instructed to arrange for a suitable Christmas parcel to be sent to all club members on active service overseas. In appreciation of his past services the secretary (Mr G. B. Peterson) was elected a life member of the club. After a long discussion on the question of subscriptions for the ensuing season it was decided that they be the same as last season. A hearty vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
