ENEMY MINE=SWEEPERS BOMBED TWO HIT AND ANOTHER DAMAGED. PLANE LOST ON EITHER SIDE. . (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) RUGBY, September 24. The Air Ministry announces that during this afternoon a formation of our bombers, escorted by fighters, attacked enemy mine-sweep-ers in the English Channel. Hits were made on two vessels and another was damaged by a bomb which burst close to it. During this operation, an attack was made by enemy fighters in which one of our bombers was shot down and one of the enemy planes was destroyed.
