YOUNG FARMERS
WAIRARAPA COUNCIL. BUSINESS AT YESTERDAY'S MEETING. The president (Mr W. James) presided over a meeting of the Wairarapa district council of the Young Farmers' Clubs held in the Farmers’ Rooms, Masterton yesterday afternoon. There was a good attendance of members. Several apologies for absence were received. An outline of the proceedings at the recent Dominion conference was given by Mr S. Freeman, of Wellington, organising secretary for the Dominion. Mr Freeman stressed the fact that it was intended to continue with the work of the Young Farmers’ Club movement as much as possible. He pointed out that there were some 80 members serving in Egypt with the First Echelon. It was the aim of the Young Farmers Club Federation to settle approved young farmers on a land settlement scheme, but the need for such a scheme would be pressed at a more opportune time. On the motion of Mr James, the speaker was accorded a vote of thanks. It was decided to continue with the fleece competition held in conjunction with the Masterton A .and P. Association.
