MASTERTON CLUB ANNUAL MEETING SUCCESSFUL YEAR RECORDED. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. The fourth annual general meeting of rhe Masterton Model Aero Club was held last night in the hangar, Hood Aerodrome. In the absence of the club’s president, Mr N. G. F. Whiteman, the club captain. Mr B. J. Doyle, occupied the chair. Apologies for nonattendance were received from Messrs N. G. F. Whiteman, H. J. Cornish and J. A. Flaws. The hon. secretary, Mr D. A. Donald, read the report of work carried out in the club during the past year and also made special mention to the club's new and spacious headquarters at the Hood Aerodrome, which were the envy of many other clubs in the Dominion. The secretary went on to say that the three members who left the club during the year had all gone to jobs directly connected with aeronautics. Messrs W. R. Perry and G. Waring were now in the R.N.Z.A.F. and Mr R. N. Davis-Goff was with the De Havilland Aircraft Factory at Wellington in the capacity of assistant inspector. Six former members of the club were now with the R.N.Z.A.F. and one other, Mr A. Jolly was a signaller on board the H.M.S. Achilles. At the conclusion of his report the secretary thanked his committee for their valuable assistance during the year, especially Messrs B. J. Doyle and W. G. Perry. In the absence of the hon. recording officer, Mr H. L. Cornish, the secretary read his report which covered the model flying activities of the club for rhe past year. Congratulations were bestowed on H. H. Fulton for breaking the southern districts and New Zealand I 100 ft. Towline Sailplane record with an excellent flight of 7min. 30 2-ssecs. At the conclusion of his report the recording officer congratulated tnose members who had distinguished themselves in model flying throughout the year and went on to say that with the enthusiastic members the club now had, flying for the ensuing year should be even better than it had been for the past year. The hon treasurer, Mr W. G. Perry, presented the balance sheet and the financial report for the year. Mr Perry said that the financial position of the club was good, and that thanks for this were due to the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club for its extreme generosity in granting the club the use of the hangar and facilities. Owing to the war it was decided that the responsible jobs of secretary and treasurer should be combined and these positions, together with that of Recording Officer, should be held by members who were not eligible for military service. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr A. McDonald; president, Mr N. G. F. Whiteman; club captain, Mr A. Rowe; hon sec and treasurer, Mr W. G. Perry; hon. recording officer, Mr A. Carmine, committee members, Messrs D. A. Donald, B. J. Doyle, H. H. Fulton, J. E. Barton. Mr Barton proposed a vote of thanks to the outgoing secretary, club captain and treasurer to which the club captain, Mr Doyle, suitably replied. Mr Perry then presented the three cups won during the year as follows: — W. G. Perry cup -for highest points, D. A. Donald; Cornish and Donald cup for sailplanes, H. H. Fulton; Mrs A. Donald cup for fuselage models, J. E. Barton. The meeting was then thrown open for discussion when various points of interest to the club were discussed.
