LAST NIGHT’S GAMES. IMPROVED STANDARD OF PLAY. Despite the wet weather there was a very fair attendance at the Y.M.C.A. last night when some excellent games in the men’s indoor basketball competition were played. Some players would be well advised to make sure that they know the rules governing the game before taking the floor next week. A copy of the rules can be obtained from the secretary of the Y.M.C.A. The results of the games last night were as follow: — Red Star 16 (Dickson 12, C. Reynolds 2, Ranston 2) beat Grahams 8 (K. Welch 5, R. Wareham 3). Vesta 24 (Jaspers 14, Leete 10) beat Masterton F.C. 15 (Minnifie 5, McHattie 10.) W.F.C.A. 27 (Wilson 24, Pullar 3) beat Reliance B 14 (Riley 6, Reynolds 6, F. Bodie 2) . Old Boys 16 (Hansill 8, Norrie 4 Dyer 2, Polson 2) beat Reliance A 13 (Riley 4, Burns 6, Hainning 2, Bodie 1). P. and T. beat Bouzaids by defaul but in a practice game against Old Boys the game was drawn. 16 goals each. For P. and T. Woollett scored 4 goals, Thompson 4, Rippon 4. anc Wickens 4, and for Old Boys Dyer registered 8 goals, Hamil 6, and Polson 2.
