ON VIRTUAL WAR FOOTING VOLUNTEER FORCES TRAINING. FIGHTER PLANES RECEIVED FROM AMERICA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, September 9. The 81-itish United Press correspondent in Batavia says the Japanese delegation arriving on. September 12 will find the Dutch East Indies on avirtual war footing, with bomb shelters constructed and other air raid precautions organised. Volunteer forces training under martial law include anti-parachute units. There is great public satisfaction at the arrival of a shipment of Curtiss fighters from America.
